There are a number of events being held, or that have already happened as part of the project.
Details will be published here of any upcoming meetings and events, plus links to see everything that has happened at previous events.
We will be holding another open day and exhibition in the Cemetery on the 25th June 2006. The event will include guided walks, details of the project to date and you will be able to meet everyone involved in the different aspects of the project.
The launch event for the project was held on Easter Sunday at the Old Kingston Cemetery. The event was well attended with over 50 people coming to lend their support and learn about the project. A selection of photo's from the open day are shown below.
Derek Bean from Isle of Wight Council Bereavement Services was on hand to give a tour of the Cemetery and volunteers were on hand to answer any questions.
As a result of the event a good number of people attended the inaugural meeting of the Friends of East Cowes Cemetery to formally set up the organisation.
